Uma Thurman and Jessica Biel are set to play rival soccer moms in a film called Playing the Field. They will join Gerard Butler who was already cast as a former pro soccer player who finds himself dodging romantic advances from soccer moms after he agrees to coach his son's youth team in an attempt to bond with the boy. Biel is set to play Butler's ex-wife, and Thurman will play a fellow parent trying to get the attention of Butler's character.
Playing the Field is set to be directed by Seven Pounds's director Gabrielle Muccino who, is also rumored to be up for directing Adaline for Summit Entertainment. The script for the film was written by Robbie Fox.
