Josh Zetumer hired to script ROBOCOP reboot

MGM has hired Josh Zetumer to write the script for the upcoming Robocop reboot. As we reported, Brazilian director Jose Padilha (Elite Squad, Bus 174) was hired by MGM. Padilha and Zetumer will work closely to shape the direction of the film.

Zetumer is making a name for himself after writing the Black List script for Infiltrator, a spy thriller set up at Warner Bros as a vehicle for Leonardo DiCaprio. He also penned the script for the Dune remake that Peter Berg was going to direct at Paramount, and he scripted a fourth installment of The Bourne Identity before that project stalled. Zetumer recently finished Vale, a supernatural action thriller set up at Warner Bros.

I liked the original Robocop film, but the others in the series were not that good. I am not too excited for the reboot, but will keep an open mind until I hear more.
