Joseph Kosinski's HORIZONS may have found a home at Universal

Joseph Kosinski’s sci-fi action project, Horizons may have found a home at Universal. THR reports that the studio is currently in negotiations to pick up the project, with Tom Cruise attached to star. The film will be produced by Kosinski, Barry Levine and Jeffrey Silver. The concept was created by Kosinski and has a script from William Monahan and Karl Gadjusek, with a story that centers on "a soldier assigned to patrol a desolate planet who meets a mysterious traveler." Kosinski partnered with Radical Pictures before setting it up at Disney.

Disney then dropped the project after becoming uncomfortable making a PG-13 actionner and let Kosinski shop the project to other parties. Universal looks as though it will beat out Warner Bros. and Fox to a deal with an October start date for the film.
