Justin Lin talks about new TERMINATOR and Arnold Schwarzenegger's involvement

We reported in February, that Universal was developing a new Terminator film with Justin Lin (Fast Five) to bring it to life. Thanks to Omelete (via Collider) we have an update on the project. Lin was promoting Fast Five today and revealed that he has a take on the new film and that he's spoken with Arnold Schwarzenegger.  At this point, Lin doesn't have a deal with Universal and is looking at other projects.

Here is what Lin had to say:

I think one of the great things is that when I got started, no one would return my calls, and now I get a lot of phone calls, which is good.  I have options.  Terminator was one of my favorite films growing up.  And I feel I have a take that I would love to see, and I’ve talked with Arnold and we’ve talked and we’ll see.  Again, I would love to do it, but it has to be the right circumstances.  It has to be the right people.  And there’s other projects too.  But I’m in a position now that I can choose more than I could a year ago, two years ago.  So that is something that is potentially in my future, but when I get home I will sit down and look at my options and choose what I want to do.

Say what you want about The Fast and the Furious, but Lin continues to churn out entertaining experiences that do well at the box office. He definitely knows a thing or two about action, I think he'd be good as the director of a new Terminator. I am looking forward to seeing Fast Five when it arrives on April 29th.

What are your thoughts on Lin's involvement in this project?
