Michael Pena to join END OF WATCH, starring opposite Jake Gyllenhaal

Michael Pena is in talks to join Jake Gyllenhaal in David Ayer's police film End of Watch. According to Variety, the film is a "gritty cop drama chronicles the friendship between two longtime partners." Ayer is writing, directing and producing the film under his Crave Films banner, along with John Lesher and his shingle Le Grisbi Prods.

Pena is a great character actor that is best known for his role in Crash. He will be seen next alongside Will Ferrell in the Lionsgate dramedy Everything Must Go, and he'll also re-team with his Observe and Report co-stars Danny McBride and Aziz Ansari in Ruben Fleischer's 30 Minutes or Less, arriving in theaters August 12 from Columbia Pictures. Pena just finished Brett Ratner's Tower Heist with Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy. Recently he's been seen in minor supporting roles in both Battle: Los Angeles and The Lincoln Lawyer.

I loved him in Observe and Report and think he's great in both comedy and drama. He is extremely hard working, and has a ton of great supporting roles to his name. I think it would be cool to see him in a leading role, but he's a perfect addition to any supporting cast.
