Al Pacino to star in GOTTI: THREE GENERATIONS

Al Pacino has joined the cast of Gotti: Three Generations. He will play Neil Dellacroce, another Gotti asscociate. He joins John Travolta (John Gotti Sr.), Joe Pesci (Gotti deputy Angelo Ruggiero), Lindsay Lohan (John Gotti Jr.'s wife Kim). Travolta's real-life wife, Kelly Preston has been cast as his wife in the film and his daughter Ella Bleu Travolta has also been cast.

The film is being directed and rewritten by Barry Levinson. Additional writing will be done by James Toback (who worked with Levinson on Bugsy). The story will focus on "the relationship of a father who lived and died by the mob code and a son who chose to leave that world behind." Marc Fiore of Fiore Films is producing the film which will be shot on location in New York and is set for a 2012 release.

This cast is continues to get better with each announcement. Pacino has had a number of misses lately, so let's hope his return to a character like this turns out well. I really liked Pacino in Donnie Brasko, Scarface and Heat. Levinson did a wonderful job of directing Sleepers and Bugsy, so I am excited to see this film.
