50 Cent joins cast of ODD THOMAS

Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson has been cast in Stephen Sommers' adaptation of Dean Koontz's bestselling novel, Odd Thomas. Anthon Yelchin plays the lead role in the supernatural thriller about "a clairvoyant short-order cook who encounters a mysterious man with a link to dark forces."Jackson will play the role of Shamus Cocobolo, "a blind deejay who helps the titular hero uncover a Satanic plot."

The rest of the cast includes, Addison Timlin, Willem Dafoe, Patton Oswalt, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Nico Tortorella. Odd Thomas is being produced by Sommers along with Fusion Films partners John Baldecchi and Howard Kaplan. Filming is slated to begin soon in Santa Fe, N.M.

Jackson will next be seen opposite Bruce Willis and Ryan Phillippe in the heist film, Set Up. He is set to re-team with Willis on the action pic Fire With Fire, and is currently shooting Freelancers with Robert De Niro and Forest Whitaker.

It really amazes me that Jackson continues to get acting gigs, and with such great casts. I am guessing/hoping that he has taken some acting classes since he was last on screen. What are your thoughts on this news?
