Fox set to distribute TAKEN 2

20th Century Fox is set to distribute Europacopr's Taken 2 in North America and most overseas territories. Luc Besson announced the news today that the studio bought the rights to for everywhere except fro France, Germany, parts of Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Benelux. The German release will be handled by Universum, with which EuropaCorp recently inked an output deal. EuropaCorp will distribute the film in Gaul.

Taken 2 will be directed by Olivier Megaton (Transporter 3), his thrid feature film. Filming is expected to begin in early 2012. He recently directed Colombiana, a high-voltage revenge action film starring Zoe Saldana.

I am really excited for Taken 2, I love Neeson and think Megaton is a solid choice to direct the film. What are your thoughts on this news?
