Darren Aronofsky to direct George Clooney in sci-fi film HUMAN NATURE?

Darren Aronofsky is considering his next project, a sci-fi film entitled Human Nature. The news comes just two months after Aronofsky announced that he would not be directing The Wolverine. George Clooney is attached to star in the film. The project is based on a fifteen-year-old original spec script by a relative unknown screenwriter Jeff Welch. The story is about "a man who is cryogenically frozen (Clooney) and wakes up years later to a world in which humans have become pets of another species." According to Vulture, Akiva Goldsman (I am Legend) is currently budgeting the film, which is being planned as Aronofsky’s next film.

This sounds like a unique project that Aronofsky would be perfect to direct. With George Clooney set to star, the financing should come together rather quickly. We will keep you posted as this story unfolds. What are your thoughts on this news?
