Mark Strong starring opposite James McAvoy in thriller WELCOME TO THE PUNCH

Mark Strong is attached to star opposite James McAvoy in the crime thriller Welcome to the Punch. Cannes Film Festival kicks off this week so be prepared for a slew of news and information regarding projects and casting. We first reported about the film last year, when McAvoy was announced as starring. The film is from writer/director Eran Creevy and is reportedly in the same mold as Heat and Internal Affairs. The story "involves a London detective, Max Lewinsky (most likely for McAvoy), whose old nemesis, an armed robber known as Red Diesel (Strong), reappears after five years away—but it’s only the tip of a massive conspiracy."

This project is being sold at Cannes and is slated to begin in productiong this July. We will be sure to report on more news involving this project as it's made available.
