We've heard that both Megan Fox and Lindsay Lohan have expressed interest in playing the title character in the upcoming remake of Stephen King's classic story Carrie. Now according to one of Cinema Blends "most proven sources." True Grit star Hailee Steinfeld is the top choice for the lead role in the movie.
Steinfeld in one hell of a talented actress that has a great movie career in front of her. There's no doubt that she would be incredible in the role, but she doesn't need to take a step back in her career by doing it. I'm standing by my opinion that this movie has no business being remade, because Brian DePalma's adaptation in 1976 with Sissy Spacek was great. Stephen King even agrees with me.
We previously reported that Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa was hired by the studio to write the script. He most recently wrote the Broadway musical, Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark. The book tells the story of a misunderstood high school girl named Carrie White, who has extraordinary telekinetic powers. She eventually goes on a violent rampage of revenge and devestation, because her high school classmates treated her like shit. If you haven't seen the original film yet, I suggest you check it out!
