Utah NBC Affiliate Won't Air THE PLAYBOY CLUB

TV NBC by Joey Paur

Utah's NBC affiliate KSL-TV will not be airing the upcoming network drama series The Playboy Club, which is set at the first Playboy Club in Chicago during the 1960s. I just think it's wired that the station doesn't have a problem airing any of those terrible soap operas that would be considered equally as dirty and risque. Honestly, I don't think The Playboy Club will last past it's first season anyway, so does it really matter?

The station announced their decision this morning and here's what KSL President and CEO Mark Willes said in a statement. "The Playboy brand is known internationally. Everyone is clear what it stands for. We want to be sure everyone is clear what the KSL brand stands for, which is completely inconsistent with the Playboy brand." EW also suggests that "one station refusing to run the show is a problematic sign, as it could prompt others to bow out too." The same station also refused to carry NBC's comedy Coupling and the religiously-themed animated comedy God, the Devil and Bob

KSL said it will be working with NBC to find another station in the market to carry the show, slated to air Mondays 10 PM this fall. Please, without getting into any religious bashing, share your thoughts on this below.
