New FRANKENSTEIN Film Being Developed at FOX

Movie FoxFrankenstein by Joey Paur

So now FOX is getting into the Frankenstein adaptation business, the studio has hired Max Landis to write a screenplay based on the class Mary Shelly tale. There is no director attached to the film yet, but the studio is looking at several high profile directors to take on the project that include Paul Greengrass, David Yates, and even Ron Howard was interested in the project at one point.

The studio is keeping their Frankenstien treatment under wraps, but come on now... it's Frankenstein, we all know what to expect. As of right now there are a ton of Frankenstein projects in the works, and the only one I'm really interested in is Guillermo del Toro's take on the story, which may never happen. The other projects include Timur Bekmambetov's prequel, The Casebook of Victor Frankenstein, based on the Peter Ackroyd novel. Dean Koontz has a modern day take on the story will be adapted called Frankenstein: Prodigal Son. Danny Boyle directed a stage play based on Frankenstein. Lakeshore is developing an film adaptation of the comic book I, Frankenstein and Tim Burton will direct a feature film version of his short film, Frankenweenie.

So we are going to be oversaturated with a bunch of Frankenstein films here in the near future. At this point no matter how these studio spin the story, it's still Frankenstein. What do you think about all these Frankenstein film projects in development?
