Don Cheadle talks THE AVENGERS, IRON MAN 3 and WAR MACHINE spinoff

 

Don Cheadle recently spoke with Collider about his numerous projects, including Iron Man 3, The Avengers and a possible War Machine spinoff. Cheadle's most recent film, The Guard was shown at the Edinburgh Film Festival. You can read a review of thatt HERE. He is also set to star in House of Lies on Showtime and there is a Miles Davis biopic on the horizon. 

Here is what Cheadle said when asked what future Marvel films he would be starring in:

Well the Iron Man 3 is coming back. We’ll probably do that again in February and there’s talk of a War Machine spinoff, which I guess, unless I get recast, I would probably do.

Here is what he said when asked if he was going to be in The Avengers and if it were ever in the works:

Not this one that they’re shooting right now. Thank god!

Me being in The Avengers? I have a contract to be in The Avengers but I’m glad they haven’t exercised that option yet. I need some down time.

The cool bit of news is that Shane Black will begin directing Iron Man 3 in February. I wonder if Cheadle is keeping his involvement in Avengers quiet and he really will be in the film for a small part. What are your thoughts?
