Julia Ormond in talks to star as Superman's mom in MAN OF STEEL

Julia Ormond is currently in talks with Warner Bros. and Zack Snyder to play Superman's Kryptonian mother, Lara Lor-Van in Man of Steel. Deadline reports that the deal is expected to be confirmed soon. Ormond would star opposite Russell Crowe who was offered the role of  Jor-El, the father of Superman (Henry Cavill). Clark Kent's Earthbound parents are set to be played by Kevin Costner and Diane Lane. The actress just finished playing the role of Vivian Leigh in the Simon Curtis-directed My Week With Marilyn, which stars Michelle Williams, Emma Watson, Dominic Cooper and Kenneth Branagh.

I think that Ormond would be perfect opposite Crowe, what are your thoughts?
