E3 2011: Nintendo Unveils their new Gaming System - Wii U

So Nintendo unveiled there new system today during their presentation at E3, It's called the Wii U, and I gotta say I'm not impressed. It's basically just a new controller with a screen that allows you to play video games on, draw on, and interact with you Wii system with. It's like an iPad or other touch screen technology tablet.

The controller will basically act like a second TV/Console. which means that games will be able to leave the television screen and be transfer over to the remote. This will also be compatible with all past Wii titles. The controller will also have a camera for video chat, rumble features, touchscreen, microphone, giroscope. You can even search the web using the remote and television. A large of vaireity of games can be supported from motion to full buttons games. Unfortunatley it was not design as a portable gaming device. The main goal of Nintendo was to create a strong bond between you and the game along with your friends and family.

The Wii U is just another Nintendo gimmick that I won't be spending my money on. I have to say I'm very underwhelmed and very disappointed. I just don't think a lot of the stuff stuff it offers is important to me as a gamer. I thought for sure that Nintendo would actually create and release something that would be a awesome competitor for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. I'll be buying a Kinect before I get anything like this.

I know a lot of hard work was put into this thing, but it just isn't for me. Maybe some of you will enjoy taking it on. I'll be checking it out on the convention floor.

Check out the presentation trailer and announcement below and tell us what you think about!
