THE AVENGERS gets some new promo art

Marvel Comics has released new promo art for The Avengers as part of their advanced solicitations to bookstores. Bleeding Cool posted the upcoming collection entitled "Road to the Avengers," collecting previously-released movie tie-in comics.

The Avengers is directed by Joss Whedon and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Clark Gregg, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Tom Hiddleston and Stellan Skarsgård. The movie hits theaters on May 4, 2012.
