Frank Marshall bringing A MATTER OF HONOR to the Big Screen

Movie by Joey Paur

Producer Frank Marshall will be developing a big screen adaptation of the  Jeffrey Archer novel A Matter of Honor as a feature film. The story is an espionage action thriller that Marshall hopes will be turned into a big action movie franchise.

The film will tell the story of a young ex- military officer character named Adam Scott, who unwittingly comes between rival intelligence agencies in pursuit of an object that can change the global balance of power.

According to THR "the plan is to also create an action sequel based on Archer’s Honor Among Thieves novel using a recurring character from A Matter of Honor, Adam Scott, as the main focus." Marshall had this to say in a statement:

Jeffrey Archer is a master storyteller whose suspenseful plots and compelling characters have the potential for a multi-feature film franchise with both domestic and international appeal.

I love movies like this, especially when they are done well. Frank Marshall has developed some pretty awesome films in his career which include, Back to the Future, Indiana Jones, The Bourne films, The Sixth Sense, and a ton of other great movies, so this new film project should end up being pretty awesome.

Here's a detailed description of the book:

It seems innocent enough. A disgraced British colonel bequeaths a mysterious letter to his only son. But the moment Adam Scott opens the yellowing envelope, he sets into motion a deadly chain of events that threatens to shake the very foundations of the free world.

Within days, Adam's lover is brutally murdered and he's running for his life through the great cities of Europe, pursued not only by the KGB, but by the CIA and his own countrymen as well. Their common intent is to kill him before the truth comes out. While powerful men in smoke-filled rooms plot ever more ingenious means of destroying him, Adam finds himself betrayed and abandoned even by those he holds most dear.

When at last he comes to understand what he is in possession of, he's even more determined to protect it, for it's more than a matter of life and death-it's a matter of honor.
