Don Cheadle and Bruce Greenwood join Robert Zemeckis' FLIGHT

It was reported earlier this year that Robert Zemeckis was going to direct his first live-action feature film in over a 10 years, Zemeckis made his best films when he was making live-action movies. The film is called Flight and according to a recent report actors Don Cheadle (Iron Man 2) and Bruce Greenwood (Star Trek) have joined the production. They will joining Denzel Washington who will be playing the lead role.  

The movie was written by John Gatins (Coach Carter, Real Steel), and the story follows "a commercial airline pilot named Whip Whitaker. When his plane malfunctions and a crash seems imminent, he saves the day with some heroic flying and manages to land the plane with minimal casualties. He's instantly hailed as a hero, but as an investigation into the cause of the crash unfolds, it becomes clear that he was flying under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The film is the pilot's journey as he is encouraged to wear a hero label he thinks he doesn't deserve, while the pilot's union and airline try to keep the facts under cover because of the high stakes involved."

It's about time Zemeckis ditched the motion capture technology and when back to live-action. He was a pioneer in using the technology and helping it grow, but he just kept pumping out one bad film after another with it. The guy has given us a ton of great classic films over the years, and I'm hoping to see more. Flight is coming together very nicely, it's got a solid director, a cast of great actors, and the story sound intriguing. The movie expected to start filming in the fall of next year. What are your thoughts on the project?
