FX developing new PI drama FURLOUGH

TV FXThe Walking Dead by

A new private investivator drama is headed to FX. Deadline reporst that the network has picked up an original drama series pitch from crime novelist/comic book writer Charlie Huston and Circle of Confusion (The Walking Dead). The pilot is to be directed by Michael Dinner with Sony TV, he will also produce.

At this time details about the plot are scarce, but Furlough is described as "a private detective/prison drama." The series will reunite FX, Sony TV, Circle of Confusion and Dinner. Sony TV and Circle of Confusion recently produced the FX comic book-based pilot Powers, which Dinner directed and is being considered for pickup. Edgar-nominated novelist Huston recently adapted his 2009 crime noir novel The Mystic Arts of Erasing All Signs of Death for HBO. The title of the show has been shortened to Signs of Death. The show was picked up to pilot, but did not make the cut even though it was directed and executive produced by Alan Ball.

Lets hope they don't bring back the Magnum PI mustache for Furlough. Other than that, this could be shaping up to be a cool series. What are your thoughts?
