REAL STEEL Viral Site to be Infiltrated - Customize Boxing Robots and Fight!

I came home today, to find a package waiting for me at my home from the World Robot Boxing organization (WRB) from the upcoming film Real Steel. The package included a cool t-shirt with the design shown above, a toy of the robot character Noisy Boy, two VIP passes to a robot boxing match that takes place on Thursday September 8th in which Noisy Boy will fight my own custom made G2 Bot. You can see a picture of stuff that was sent to me below. The package also included a flash drive that took me to WRB.com where I signed up to create my own custom boxing robot.

After I created my robot (pictured below) and went through a little training session I started to fight some other Bots. This actually turned out to be a pretty fun little viral game. I'm normally not into these kinds of things, but there was some effort put into this to make it cool. This is all part of the viral campaign for Hugh Jackman and Shawn Levy's new sci-fi film Reel Steal

There was also a crumpled up note included in the box that said the following,

Attention all TRUE fight fans!

We heard the WRB was sending you this package, so we thought we'd include a note and make our presence known... but it won't be the last you hear from us. After all, if we can infiltrate a mailer, just think what we can do to their precious website. This Thursday, go to the WRB.com to see a real bot fight

So it looks like something big and exciting is going to go down, and I will join in to see what happens. Check out the WRB website and build your own boxing robot!

Here's the Boxing Robot I designed:

Here is the official plot synopsis for the sci-fi feature:

A gritty, white-knuckle, action ride set in the near future [the year 2020], where the sport of boxing has gone hi-tech, “Real Steel” stars Hugh Jackman as Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring.  Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next.  When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max (Goyo) to build and train a championship contender.  As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.

The film also stars Evangeline Lilly (Lost), Kevin Durand (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), Anthony Mackie (The Hurt Locker), Hope Davis, and child actor Dakota Goyo.
