Danny Strong to Script THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY

Movie by Joey Paur

Lionsgate has hired Danny Strong to write the script for the two-part Hunger Games finale Mockingjay. Strong just won a couple of Emmy's for his work on HBO's Game Change. He also recently wrote The Butler for director Lee Daniels. Before Strong got into screenwriting, he was an actor who had a recurring role as Jonathan, on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

The first part of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay will be released on November 21th, 2014, and the second part will hit theaters on November 20th, 2015. It will be interesting to see how they stretch that last book out into two movies. In my opinion, it definitely wasn't the best book of the trilogy.

What did you think of the third book if you've read it? Do you think it will make for two good movies?

Here's the description of the third book in the series:

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has survived the Hunger Games twice. But now that she's made it out of the bloody arena alive, she's still not safe. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge. Who do they think should pay for the unrest? Katniss. And what's worse, President Snow has made it clear that no one else is safe either. Not Katniss's family, not her friends, not the people of District 12.
