Jamie Foxx in Talks to Play Villain in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2
It seems like Sony Pictures and director Marc Webb are moving forward fast with The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The studio is currently in talks with Jamie Foxx to play the lead villain in the film!
According to Variety sources close to the production say that Foxx will play Electro in the movie, but the studio would not confirm or deny it. I honestly don't see Foxx in a movie like this, especially after doing something like Django Unchained. It just does't seem to fit his style, which is maybe why he's considering doing it.
Before Electro became Electro his name was Max Dillion. Instead of being killed after being struck by a bolt of lightening he gained the ability to control electricity. The character was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, and first appeared in "The Amazing Spider-Man #9" in February 1964.
I imagine this could very well be the shadowing villain that approached Dr. Curt Connors in the prison cell at the end of the movie asking if Peter Parker knows the truth about his father. The scene features lightning, which led many fans to specualte that Electro could be the next villain. Now even though Electro will be in the movie, it doesn't mean that it was him in the cell with Connors.
Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are set to reprise their roles and Shailene Woodley will be joining the cast as Mary Jane Watson.
