Harry Potter and Kick-Ass fans rejoice. Variety reports that Chloe Moretz and Rupert Grint are joining Randall Miller's The Drummer, an indie music biopic about Beach Boys drummer Dennis Wilson, which focuses on the last six years of his life. Filming is slated to begin on June 15.
Moretz will sign on to play Wilson's daughter Jennifer, who is co-producing the film, along with her half-brother Carl. Grint will play Stan Shapiro, "a mail room intern at William Morris, who befriended Wilson during the last few years of the musician's life." The cast includes Aaron Eckhart as Wilson and Vera Farmiga, who signed on to play Fleetwood Mac singer-songwriter Christine McVie.
I really liked Moretz in Hugo, and am glad to see Grint in a leading role post Potter. What are your thoughts on this casting news?
