Nathan Fillion Is Cast as a God!

Since the untimely death of Firefly, I have been in the Nathan Fillion cheering section. It made me happy to see him in the ABC series Castle, but I have wanted him to get back into the fanboy scene. Fillion has been cast as the Greek god Hermes in the upcoming film adaptation of Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Sea of Monsters. Hermes is the father of antagonist Luke, who is played in the films by Jake Abel. He will join Logan Lerman, who will reprise his role of the demigod Percy, as well as Alexandra Daddario and Brandon T. Jackson who also are returning. Thor Freudenthal is attached to direct.

It will be nice to see Fillion on the big screen again. I was hoping for Fillion to make an appearance in Joss Whedon's Avengers. I thought he would make a perfect Dr. Pym. Then I saw what looked to be flying robots in the trailer and thought, Ultron? Sadly, I feel my hopes may be dashed. Maybe in the sequel. Let us know what you think.
