TrailerMovie by Joey Paur

Here's the first trailer to a new film called The Sound of My Voice, which follows a young couple who infiltrate a mysterious crazy cult to debunk the claim that its leader is from the year 2054 and prove that the cult is full of crap. Of course, the longer they are in the cult, the more the start to question what it is they are doing.

The film has a strange vibe to it, but it looks like an interesting story. The film was written by and stars Brit Marling (Another Earth). She said she did a lot of research on several of the underground cults in the Los Angeles area--apparently they're everywhere! The movie was co-written and directed by Zal Batmanglij.

Here's the Synopsis:

In SOUND OF MY VOICE, Peter (Christopher Denham) and Lorna (Nicole Vicius), a couple and documentary filmmaking team, infiltrate a mysterious group led by an enigmatic young woman named Maggie (Brit Marling). Intent on exposing her as a charlatan and freeing the followers from her grip, Peter and Lorna start to question their objective and each other as they unravel the secrets of Maggie's underworld.

The movie will be released on April 27th, 2012 by Fox Searchlight Pictures. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you've ever ventured off and joined a cult, or are you currently in a cult?
