AMC Developing New Series from WALKING DEAD Creator Robert Kirkman

AMC is set to develop a TV series adaptation of The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman's new produced comic book called Thief of Thieves. The series will be a series of heist stories, and here's what Kirkman had to say about it in a statement,

Much like The Walking Dead brought horror to television in a unique and groundbreaking way, I feel Thief of Thieves can do the same thing for heist stories, showing the humanity of all the characters, including the criminals.

The story "centers on master thief Conrad Paulson who, while attempting to reconcile with his estranged wife and son, vows to walk the straight and narrow, only to discover he’s completely addicted to the thrill of stealing. Now he must feed his addiction by stealing only what has been stolen, as the Thief of Thieves.”

I'm a sucker for good heist films, so if they are looking to reinvent it in a groundbreaking way for television you can count me in! I have yet to read any of the comics, but it really sounds like it could be a fantastic new series. I can't wait to see how it turns out!

The comic is being written by Nick Spencer, and the art for it will be created by Shawn Martinbrough. Chic Eglee will jump on board as the potential series showrunner, and will executive produce alongside Kirkman and Walking Dead executive producer David Alpert.

Do you think this comic will make for a awesome TV series?
