Jennifer Lawrence to Join THE GLASS CASTLE
Lionsgate will be developing a film based on a memoir by gossip columnist Jeanette Walls called The Glass Castle, and Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence is in talks to star. Lawrence is blowing up right now, and is landing some pretty incredible role. There are studios even fighting over shooting schedules so that they can get her in their films. As soon as I saw the actress in Winter's Bone, I knew she was going to be a big star. It's just kind of crazy seeing how fast it's happening. It will be interesting to see where her career goes from here.
TV screenwriter Marti Noxon has been hired to write the screenplay, she's worked on series such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Prison Break, and Mad Man. The story will focus on her difficult childhood with her “dysfunctional but vibrant” family.

Jeannette Walls grew up with parents whose ideals and stubborn nonconformity were both their curse and their salvation. Rex and Rose Mary Walls had four children. In the beginning, they lived like nomads, moving among Southwest desert towns, camping in the mountains. Rex was a charismatic, brilliant man who, when sober, captured his children's imagination, teaching them physics, geology, and above all, how to embrace life fearlessly.
