Exciting STAR TREK 2 Spoilers - Benedict Cumberbatch's Villain Revealed

It looks like all that speculation and internet chatter about J.J. AbramsStar Trek 2 that we've all been talking about over the last year is actually true. There's confirmation of three of these big rumors that most of you have heard or read about, and the fact that it's all true now takes this news into spoiler territory. If you don't know what rumors we're talking about or you don't want to know which rumors have been confirmed, I suggest you stop reading, because that's where this article is going to take you. One of the major reveals tells us who the main villain in the movie is, which is being played by Sherlock's Benedict Cumberbatch. I got all this information from TrekMovie.

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

First - A couple of days ago a rumor hit that Leonard Nimoy would be back as Spock in the film. That is now actually a reality. Nimoy will indeed be back as Spock Prime and his work on the film has already been completed. Looks like Abrams was able to pull Nimoy out of retirement for one more big screen Star Trek appearance, which is great!

Second - This is the big villain reveal! Benedict Cumberbatch is playing the villain Khan! That's right! There's been speculation from the very beginning that Khan would be the main villain in Star Trek 2, but when Cumberbatch was cast as the main villain it kind of threw everyone off. TrekMovie has confirmed this with a number of sources, and they have no doubt that we will see Khan kicking ass in the film. I guess this shouldn't come as a surprise as Khan is one of the greatest Star Trek villains ever. And the site points out that the 2009 DVD commentary reveals that they had considered a post-credits scene in the first movie showing the Botany Bay, Khan’s sleeper ship. So they've obviously been planning this from the beginning.

Third - The sequel will also feature Klingons! So it looks like we're actually going to get to see what Abrams' version of big screen Klingons will be like. They were almost included in the first film, but they ended up being cut out. I think most of us expected the Klingons would be in the new movie. It's nice to have confirmation though.

This is exciting stuff! I don't really concider these spoilers as it's stuff that I want to know about the movie! Knowing this gets me even more excited about what Abrams and his crew are creating for the fans! What are your thoughts on all of these major reveals?
