KICK-ASS 2 - More Story Details Revealed

Kick-Ass 2 is quickly gearing up for production in September, and Jeff Wadlow is the man bringing the next installment of the franchise to life. Aaron Johnson, Chloe Mortez and Christopher Mintz-Plasse, are all set to reprise their roles as Kick-Ass, Hit Girl, and Red Mist. Garrett M.Brown is also in negotiations to reprise his role as Dave’s dad.

We've heard that Hit Girl's role in the story is going to be beefed up a bit, as she's one of the most interesting characters in the story. In a previous interview Wadlow had this to say about the story and the changes from comic to film,

I think the most important thing that’s gonna change from the Kick-Ass 2 comic to Kick-Ass 2 the movie was just really finding an emotional story to tell. Because what I certainly loved about the first film, and what I think elevated it above most comic book adaptations, is the heart and the emotion in the film. It was sort of my challenge as the film maker and storyteller to find something as emotional in the second film and I think we have some stuff that people are gonna really respond to.

Someone’s discovered the hero’s identity’ territory with both Dave and Mindy being find out. It adds an exciting, and somewhat amusing twist to proceedings.

Dave’s identity as ‘Kick-Ass’ is only really revealed to the one extra person, but it’s someone important. And it has repercussions. Hit-Girl’s identity is also widely known by this point – and it evokes much nasty yabbering behind Mindy’s back by her schoolmates (she’s nicknamed “Captain Muffin-Muncher”). The worst of the mean girls, Brooke, is your typical prissy jock-marrying wannabe who controls the thoughts and feelings of her teenage followers and disciples (including innocent young Lois, whom ultimately forms a bond with Mindy). But ‘Hit-Girl’, never one to shy away from a confrontation and seemingly always equipped with the perfect weapon of self defense, gets Brooke and her bitch gang back in… let’s say, rather spectacular fashion. It involves gadgetry, projectile vomiting and much begging. There will be so much cheering in the cinema!

I'm so happy that we are getting a Kick-Ass sequel! For a while there I didn't think it would happen, I just thought it was all smoke being blown up our asses. It's great that the film is actually moving forward, and it's going to be fun to see what happens in the next chapter of this film franchise. Everyone is saying it's going to be just as hardcore and violent as the first film, so that's a plus.
