David Fincher Producing Thriller IOU

David Fincher is set to produce a new thriller called IOU. The movie is being directed by Jacob Aaron Estes (Mean Creek) from a script written by Michael Arlen Ross (Turistas). Fincher rarely attaches himself to projects that he's not directing, so this must be a pretty good script. There are absolutely no details on the story, but they plan is to start shooting in January of 2013. According to the title of the film, a character obviously owes another character something.

It's been a while since I've seen Estes' Mean Creek, but I remember it was a good movie with a solid story. He also wrote and directed a dark comedy called The Details, and wrote a film called The Dark Endeavor: The Apprenticeship of Victor Frankenstein for Summit, which Matt Reeves is attached to direct.

I hate reporting on upcoming films when there are no story details to go on. All I can say is that it's got some talented people involved, and there's the hope that it turns out to be a great film. The fact that Fincher is involved says a lot about the project though.
