SDCC '12 - TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN Part 2 Panel

Movie TwilightComic-Con by

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 panel kicked off with thunderous applause as the cast took the stage. Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, and Kristen Stewart came out and were joined by Mackenzie Foy, who plays Renesmee, and Stephanie Meyer.

We were then treated to seeing the first 7 minutes of the movie. The footage shows Bella after her transformation into a vampire. Some of the moments were untinentionally funny. One of the best parts for me was seeing the visual effects.

Stephanie Meyer, who is producing the film, said she was most looking forward to seeing Bella break out of her shell and take on a strong persona.

Stewart talked briefly about the difference between Twilight vampires and other vampires and how she was excited to be able to transform herself into this new character.

Pattinson was asked about the experience filming that scene and shared how his character also had done a lot of changing.

Lautner talked a bit about how amazing it has been to see Stewart change and for his character to finally be over Bella.

The second clip shows Bella meeting Charlie for the first time, and pretend to be human. There were a few funny moments, which was surprising to me. The final film looks as though it will have a mix of action, comedy and romance.

Peter Facinelli, Nikki Reed, Elizabeth Reeser, Ashley Greene, Jackson Rathbone, and the rest of the Cullen clan joined the panel at this point.

Facinelli talked a bit about how the past years have been such a wild ride and how he loves fan events and the memories that he has made attending these events.

Reed talked said she can't single out one memory to really point out. She loves being able to see the growth of the cast and entering new stages in life.

Lutz said his favorite moment was being able to kiss his wife in the movie. He shared that it has been an honor of working with all these amazing actors, and looks forward to working with them each again.

Rathbone made his first Comic-Con panel appearance, and he said he was loving it.

The question and answer period was pretty run-of-the-mill. There were few questions that are really of interest to geeks. Most of the fan questions are honestly ridiculous to me. Things like, "what would your character do if they were in a diffferent dimension?" I wonder where some of the questions come from.

Fans were then shown an extended clip from The Host, which looks pretty damn cool. I have not read the book yet, but am looking forward to seeing this in theaters. The movie looks like it will be a huge hit for young adult fans.

I am not talking from the standpoint of a Twilight hater, in fact I have read all of the books and seen all of the films so far. What type of question would you ask if you were at the Twilight Comic-Con panel?
