Marvel Studios is currently focused on looking for an actress to fill the lead female role in the Joe and Anthony Russo-directed Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
According to a report from the New York Post, Anna Kendrick (Scott Pilgrim, The Twilight Saga), Felicity Jones (Like Crazy, Cemetery Junction, The Tempest) and Imogen Poots (Fright Night, 28 Weeks Later) are all up for the the part.
There's no official word on what character these actresses are up for, but I assume it's Sharon Carter. Sharon is the niece of Margaret "Peggy" Carter who was played by Hayley Atwell in the first Captain America film. She also ends up being a love interest for Steve Rodgers in the comic.
It was recently reported that Anthony Mackie would play Falcon in the film, and Chris Evans will obviously be reprising his role as Captain America. It will be interesting to see what other characters end up popping up in the sequel.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits theaters April 4, 2014. Which of the three young actresses would you like to see land this part in the movie?
