Brett Ratner in the Running to Direct JUSTICE LEAGUE? No!

An outrageous rumor has hit the net that Warner Bros. is considering bringing on Brett Ratner to direct Justice League. The script is currently being written by Gangster Squad scribe, Will Beale. The rumor originates from Superman Super Site who claims an inside source says,

The studio is very pleased with the work that Brett [Ratner] has done as a producer and director on past projects. They are now very interested in seeing what he can do with helping finally bring this group of iconic superheroes to the big screen!

I just want to say that I think this rumor is complete bullcrap. The news comes from a site I've never heard of until today, and I know that in itself doesn't discredit them, but why in the world would Warner Bros. go to a director that fans dislike to direct this property? And how can they be pleased with his past work? Let's break it down...

His last film was Tower Heist and it sucked. It was also his first film project in four years. So my question to you is, if the WB was so pleased with his past work, where in the hell were they during those four years? Why didn't they make a movie with him during that dry spell? Before Tower Heist he did the Rush Hour films and of course X-Men: The Last Stand, which just pissed fans off.

I just can't see logic behind Warner Bros. wanting Ratner to direct Justice League. They want someone as talented as Christopher Nolan or Joss Whedon to take on a project like this. Ratner isn't even in the same league as the kind of directors they are looking at. I'm pretty confident that there's no truth behind this rumor, so I wouldn't worry.

But just for conversation, if it were true, how would you feel about Ratner directing Justice League?
