TED and BOURNE Sequels Confirmed by Universal

Movie TED by Joey Paur

We've heard over the past few months that we would most likely see sequels to Seth MacFarlane's Ted and Jeremy Renner's Bourne Legacy. Today those sequels have been confirmed by NBC Universal CEO Steve Burke, who said that Universal Pictures will be focusing more on film franchises and an increase in animated movie output over time to strengthen its film business.

According to THR, Burke explained that "franchises and animation" will ensure more stable financials. He then mentioned that some franchises we can count on seeing are more Bourne films, and also said his team wants to make a Ted 2 as soon as they can. Then there's the Fast and the Furious franchise that has already been confirmed.

As far as animation goes, the studio plans to release one every 18 months or so. Their goal is to eventually release two animated feature films a year.

It will be fun to see what happens with Ted in a sequel. I really had a great time watching that movie. As for Bourne, I liked the last film, but wasn't blown away. What are your thoughts on these movies getting more sequels, and Universal's plan to build more franchises and animated films?
