Bill Hader to Take on Hasselhoff Character in BAYWATCH Movie

Bill Hader is stocking up on suntan lotion for his next role. The Wrap reports that the SNL star has joined the cast of Paramount's Baywatch movie and will play the character David Hasselhoff played in the hit TV show. The casting was announced by director Robert Ben Garant (co-creator of Reno 911!). He cautioned that Hader's contract has not been finalized, and Hader's spokesman, Matt Labov, denied his involvement.

The film will be an adaptation of Baywatch, much like Reno 911! is a hilarious take on Cops. Both Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson will cameo in the movie. The plot follows lifeguards exploring an oil rig of the Malibu coast that turns out to be a meth lab. Jeremy Garelick and Peter Tolan penned drafts of the script, and Ben Garant has revisited. Filming is expected to begin in April.

"They're so excited they made us shoot a trailer and the script isn't even done,” Ben Garant said.
I love Reno 911! and am now mildly optimistic about this reboot. Share your thoughts in the rant back section below!
