Shawn Levy Set to Direct NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM 3

Movie Shawn Levy by Joey Paur

Looks like 20th Century Fox is planning on moving forward with Night at the Museum 3. They've hired Shawn Levy, the director of the two previous films, to develop it, and they've set a release date for December 25th, 2014. And of course, Ben Stiller will be back to reprise his role as museum security guard Larry Daley.

I've never been a big fan of the franchise, but the kids love them, and that's why they are making a third movie. It's guaranteed to bring in money. The first movie was released in 2006 and took place at New York's Museum of Natural History, the second movie was released in 2009 and took place in Washington, DC at the Smithsonian. It was previously revealed by the writer of the movie, Thomas Lennon, that it would be set in the Liberace Museum, but he also could have been joking. It actually could be a fun setting though. I guess we'll see.

Levy most recently directed Real Steel and plans to release his latest comedy, The Internship, on June 7th.
