VIKINGS Gets A Second Season!

TV by Billy Fisher

Who would have imagined that the History Channel would have a scripted a show rated in the top five shows on TV? Obviously, I have been out of the loop. I have seen commercials for the show Vikings, but I figured it would be a flash in the pan and then I would be out of luck. Well, it looks like Vikings isn’t getting Firefly’d after all.

It has been announced by Variety that the show is being picked up for a second season consisting of 10 episodes. Here is what the brass at THC had to say about the show:

Vikings is a win-win for us,” said History’s exec veep of development and programming Dirk Hoogstra. “As our first scripted series, Vikings has paid off in a big way with critical acclaim, strong ratings and a passionate, loyal fan base. It came out of the gate strong and has stayed on top, solidifying History as a major player in the scripted genre, just as we are in reality.

With this announcement I guess I will have to go back and watch the first 5 episodes. The current season ends on April 28th. I am going to have to get a move on to catch up.

For those of you who have seen the show, what do you like best about it? What don’t you like about it?

Until next time…
