Robert Redford Spoils His CAPTAIN AMERICA 2 Role

During a recent interview, Robert Redford revealed a big spoiler regarding his S.H.I.E.L.D. character Alexander Pierce in Captain America: The Winter Solider. It's actually pretty surprising. Before I get to the spoiler stuff though Anthony Mackie offered a few more details on his role as Sam Wilson, a.k.a. The Falcon, in the movie saying,

Sam's very involved. I'm in about 60 percent of the movie. Captain America, the Black Widow and The Falcon take down the Winter Solider together, and they solve the crime at hand and take down the Winter Soldier. So this movie, if you look at the cast, with everybody in (the fictional crime-fighting group) S.H.I.E.L.D. and (co-stars Robert) Redford and Sam Jackson and everybody who's in the movie, it's kind of turning into 'The Avengers Part 2' because the cast is so big.

Now, on to the Robert Redford reveal. If you don't want to know what it is, then don't read any further. Like I said, it's a big reveal if it turns out to be true.

So this is what he had to say in a profile piece by entertainment journalist Will Lawrence, published in a recent edition of The Straits Times’ Life! section. When asked about his character this was his response...

I like the idea of playing a villain… I did that just because it’s a different thing for me to do.

So there could be a major plot twist in the film that reveals his character is actually a villain, which is pretty damn cool. I could see Redford playing a bitter old villain in a comic book movie, and it actually make more sense now why they cast such a big name actor for the role.

This hasn't been confirmed, but what do you think of the possibility of Redford playing a villain in this movie?
