First Look At Bob Stookey From THE WALKING DEAD Season 4!

One of my most anticipated panels at SDCC this year is The Walking Dead panel. For those of you who are fans of both the graphic novel and the show, you already know that the two are slowly drifting apart as far as the storylines go.

With fan favorite characters walking different paths on the show and the introduction of new faces, things are constantly on the move. For those of you who have been followers of the novel, you will be pleased to know that we are getting another treat. Bad guy Bob Stookey will be on this next season, but I wouldn't expect to see the same Bob that we have known and loved to hate.

From the upcoming issue of EW we get our first image and a little back story on Bob Stookey. Here is what they have, enjoy:

Played by Lawrence Gilliard Jr. (The Wire), the TV version of Stookey is a former Army medic. But unlike the comic version, this Stookey does not hail from Woodbury. Instead, he is found by Daryl Dixon about a week before events pick up in season 4. “His backstory is not entirely the same as in the comic and the novel,” explains new showrunner Scott M. Gimple. “I think he’s seen things go bad over and over, and winding up in this stable place doesn’t shake him from his experience. He struggles with that.”
“You can see there’s something deeper and darker that’s going on with this character, just from the first episode,” says Gilliard. “We don’t really know what it is. We just know he’s got some issues that he’s dealing with.”
