First Look at Jason Statham and James Franco in New Thriller HOMEFRONT

Jason Statham and James Franco have teamed up for a new thriller called Homefront, which is based on the best-selling novel by Chuck Logan. Sylvester Stallone wrote the script. We have our first look at the two actors today in a few photos that were released on USA Today. The story follows a DEA agent who moves to a small town after he's finished with his life fighting crime. As you might expect, once he moves to the small town he ends up fighting crime again. Director Gary Fleder talked about the film a little, explaining,

"Broker (Statham) is trying to live off the grid with his daughter, live the idyllic life. But then he runs into Gator (Franco), who has a lot of people in town afraid. Looking at it within the paradigm of the classic Western, Gator is the guy with the black hat on. Even the sheriff doesn't want to mess with him."

Statham talked about his role in the film as well, saying,

"I've done certain kind of roles up to now, and this is different from the usual tough guy role. In this film you get to see the lighter side of me yet there is still the tough guy element in the character."

The movie also stars Winona Ryder, and I'm curious to see how it turns out. I think it will be a good one though.
