4 Story Descriptions for Upcoming STAR WARS Novels
A couple of days ago it was announced that at least 20 Star Wars books would be released this year alone. That's a lot! They will range from novels for adults and teens to storybooks and stickerbooks for the kids.
All of these book will go through Lucasfilm's Star Wars story group, and they will all be considered canon alongside Star Wars Rebels, The Clone Wars, the six films in the Star Wars saga, and the new films that are coming out. You can read more about that here.
Thanks to Jedi-bibliothek.de, we have plot summaries for four of the books that will be released. One of them introduces two new characters, while another will feature Luke Skywalker's first lightsaber duel. The summaries also give us an idea of how they fit in with the rest of the universe. Here are the descriptions that we have so far:
Lost Stars:
This thrilling Young Adult novel gives readers a macro view of some of the most important events in the Star Wars universe, from the rise of the Rebellion to the fall of the Empire. Readers will experience these major moments through the eyes of two childhood friends–Ciena Ree and Thane Kyrell–who have grown up to become an Imperial officer and a Rebel pilot. The Weapon of a Jedi: A Luke Skywalker Adventure:

Set between Star Wars: A New Hope and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, the story finds Luke Skywalker, C-3PO, and R2-D2 stranded on a mysterious planet, and explores Luke’s first-ever duel with a lightsaber.
Smuggler’s Run: A Han Solo Adventure:
Han Solo and Chewbacca the Wookiee team-up for an all-new adventure in this thrilling upper middle grade novel. Set betweenStar Wars: A New Hope and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back,the story follows everyone’s favorite pair of smugglers as they fly theMillennium Falcon on a top-secret mission for the Rebellion.
Moving Target: A Princess Leia Adventure:
Princess Leia returns for an all-new adventure in this thrilling upper middle grade novel. Set between Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: The Return of the Jedi, the story follows the warrior princess as she leads a ragtag group of rebels on a dangerous mission against the evil Galactic Empire.
All of these open up some really interesting story possibilities for the universe, and I'm very curious to see how they turn out, and how they tie into the saga. These books will all hit the shelves on September 4th, 2015. Are you excited to jump in and start reading these!?
