A Huge, A-List Marvel Character Was Just Killed in CIVIL WAR II

Marvel Comics just killed off a major character in their current comic arc Civil War II. It's kind of a shocker, and I didn't see it coming, but they did it and I'm sad. If you don't want to know who it was and how it happened don't read any further.

Are you ready for this? Bruce Banner, the original Hulk, has been murdered, and he was taken out by Clint freakin' Barton, the Avenger you all know as Hawkeye.

In the story, Banner was hiding out in a remote location and experimenting on himself to keep the Hulk at bay. If you've been reading the comics then I guess you had an idea that this was coming. In the latest issue, Captain Marvel learns from the Inhuman Ulysses, who can predict future events, that the Hulk would murder several of the superheroes, so she and her team took the fight to him to take him out.

This all takes place in Civil War #3, which came with the tagline, "One of the biggest heroes in the Marvel Universe will fall!"

I think the most surprising thing to me is that the Banner was taken out by Hawkeye of all people. The guy didn't even hesitate and shot an arrow right through his eye as you will see in the comic book art that I provided below.

Bruce Banner is the second hero to die as a result of the Civil War II storyline. The first was War Machine, who was killed by Thanos, while She-Hulk remains on life support in a coma.

The big question is, will Banner stay dead or will he return? We all know how comic books work. Characters are always being brought back from the dead, but we'll just have to wait and see what happens. I say if they are going to start killing off characters, keep them dead so that the emotional weight of it is real.

What do you all think about how Banner's death went down?
