Chris Pratt on Star-Lord in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

During a recent interview with Fandango, actor Chris Pratt talks more about his role as Star-Lord in director James Gunn's upcoming film The Guardians of the Galaxy. This is going to be a very different Marvel film than what the movie fans are used to. It is a very different part of the universe, but it's going to be awesome!

Pratt talks about landing the role, how much he knew before he got it, and why he took they part.

“Just the fact that he was part of the Marvel brand was really exciting. I was signed up to do the movie before I was even allowed to read a script, so it wasn't like something about this particular character that got me to do it. The fact that it was a Marvel movie is what got me to do it. Granted, once I did read it there were so many things about the character that I love, and one thing is that he's very much a kid at heart."

Here he discusses the describes what his character Star-Lord is like saying,

"He's like a man-child. And I like the idea that he's got a false sense of bravado. Deep down inside he's lonely and desperate. But on the outside he walks around like he's big and tough, and I don't think he does a great job of convincing everybody that he's not just a scared little child.”

I think Pratt is the perfect actor to take on this role, especially after I saw footage of him at Comic-Con. He just nails the character, and I can't wait to see more!

Based on the Marvel comic book that first appeared in 1969, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is produced by Kevin Feige, directed by James Gunn from a story by Nicole Perlman and Gunn and screenplay by James Gunn, and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, with Benicio del Toro, John C. Reilly, and Glenn Close

The film is set for an August 1st, 2014 release.
