Creepy Promo for Guillermo del Toro's THE STRAIN - Heart
FX has released a new spot for Guillermo del Toro's upcoming vampire series The Strain. This series seems to have a solid marketing campaign. I've really enjoyed the little teaser trailers that the network has released, and this latest spot centers on a heart in a jar.
The show is based on the book series that Del Toro created with author Chuck Hogan. The bioterror thriller focuses on an outbreak in the U.S. of a virus that either kills those who are exposed to it or turns them into bloodthirsty vampires. The point of this story was to make vampires scary again, and I hope they are able to pull that off in this series.
The tale is a high concept thriller that tells the story of “Dr. Ephraim Goodweather” (Corey Stoll), the head of the Center for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City. He and his team are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism. As the strain spreads, Eph, his team, and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers wage war for the fate of humanity.
The series is set to debut this summer on Sunday, July 13th.
