Creepy Trailer for the High School Set Horror Film THE GALLOWS

I was first introduced to this movie at WonderCon earlier this month, and they showed us this nightmarish teaser trailer. Here's the synopsis:

Twenty years after an accident caused the death of the lead actor during a high school play, students at the same small town school resurrect the failed stage production in a misguided attempt to honor the anniversary of the tragedy—but ultimately find out that some things are better left alone.

The movie was directed by Chris Lofing and Travis Cluff, and it ended up getting picked up by Blumhouse Pictures after they funded and shot the movie themselves on their own terms. They managed to get their funding from local investors in Fresno, CA. As a huge horror movie fan this looks like it has the makings of something really cool. It's really rare for a studio to go out and pick up a movie like this, so its gotta be something they are excited about.

The film will be released in theaters by New Line Cinema on July 10th, and I'm looking forward to seeing it.
