Dad Lovingly Designs STAR WARS Corrective Helmets for His Son After Cranial Surgery

GearArt Star Wars by Joey Paur

While young Jack was recovering from cranial surgery, he had to wear corrective helmets to make sure the shape of his head turned out right. The surgery was done to correct his congenital craniosynostosis, which is a premature fusing of the skull. Over the course of a year, his dad gave these helmets an adorably awesome Star Wars makeover by making them look like the helmet designs of different characters from the films. The helmets were inspired by R2-D2, Luke Skywalker, Biggs Darklighter, and Jek Tono Porkins.

This is the note that came along with the photo from imgur user mikesweeney37:

My buddy’s kid had craniosynostosis surgery. His dad designed helmets for a year. Today is the last day of helmets. Happy birthday, Jack!

Happy birthday, Jack!
