Dark Short Film About the Death of Childhood - VARMiNT
Once I started watching this short film I couldn't pull myself away from it. The short is called "VARMiNT," and it sucked me right into its dark, comedic, and disturbing world. It's a very clever, fresh, and unique story that was beautifully shot. The amazing film is NSFW, but it's worth watching when you have a chance. It's very different than anything I've seen recently. There may be some disturbing aspects, but it does carry a powerful massage about hate. Here's the synopsis:
The death of child-hood: VARMiNT follows a filthy 12 year-old feral boy, whose only link to his past are a pair of underpants and tattered baby blanket. Sleeping in trees, he fights to survive by scavenging nearby farms at night. When he becomes obsessed with the mechanical wonders of a local farmer’s tractor, survival could prove fatal.
The violent conclusion challenges lessons in adulthood, social conventions, and man’s thoughtless disposals of life.
The short was directed by Joel Knoernschild from a script written by Chris Schieffelin. I hope you like it!
