David Goyer Calls She-Hulk a "A Giant, Green Porn Star" Stan Lee Defends

Is Marvel's She-Hulk "a giant, green porn star"? Dark Knight and Man of Steel screenwriter David Goyer seems to think so. He recently was a guest on John August's Scriptnotes podcast. While on the show he shared his theory about the character She-Hulk saying,

“So the Hulk was this classic male power fantasy. It’s like, most of the people reading comic books were these people like me who were just these little kids who were getting the shit kicked out of them every day…. And so then they created She-Hulk, right? Who was still smart, so it was like, I think She-Hulk is the chick that you could f--- if you were Hulk, you know what I’m saying?… She-Hulk was the extension of the male power fantasy. So it’s like if I’m going to be this geek who becomes the Hulk, then let’s create a giant green porn star that only the Hulk could f---.”

I couldn't help be laugh at this statement. That is the last thing I would have thought about She-Hulk. It's not surprising that he would say something like that, as he's obviously a DC guy. Co-host Craig Mazin agreed with him though saying that her “real” name was “Slut-Hulk," and then added that the whole point was to make a character with “enormous boobs [who is] Hulk strong, but not Hulk massive."

Stan Lee was inverviewed by The Washington Post shortly after to get his input on Goyer's bizzare little rant. Here's what Lee had to say about She-Hulk in the interview:

Why Lee created She-Hulk:

"I know I was looking for a new female superhero, and the idea of an intelligent Hulk-type grabbed me."

What She-Hulk's purpose in the comics was:

"Never for an instant did I want her as a love interest for Hulk. Only a nut would even think of that."

On She-Hulk's muscular physique:

"As for her looking beautiful and curvy, show me the superheroine who isn’t."

I think Goyer's comments are pretty ridiculous, but it was entertaining to read about! I'm going to have to side with Lee on this little debate. What side do you fall on?
