Disney Developing Live-Action Cruella de Vil Film
Disney is continuing to develop live-action film adaptations of their classic animated films, now with the addition of Cuella de Vil. I'm sure you're all familiar with the character, but if you're not, she's the villain from 101 Dalmatians. This would be the second time the character would be brought to life for the big screen. Glenn Close played her in the live action 101 Dalmatians movie back in 1996, as well as the sequel which came out it 2000.
The new movie will be called Cruella, and the studio has hired Aline Brosh McKenna to write it. She recently worked on the live-action Cinderella movie being directed by Kenneth Branagh.
Disney is also developing another Alice in Wonderland film along with Maleficent. So this would be the second film that focuses on one of their villains. I love that Disney is developing movies based on their villains! Villains are more interesting anyway. Hopefully they end up doing a whole series of villain films!
There's no story information yet, but I imagine it will be a prequel to 101 Dalmatians.
